I came across this company that has an intriguing array of fairly priced products to replace or enhance security systems.  I have no experience with them but thought the great minds here might find something useful.

Looks like these use a ESP 8266 board, never thought of doing a whole security setup with one.

I had thought of playing with a door\window contacts, motion sensors and a ESP but not as a security system.
Authinix (x10) was working on a WiFi security console but it never got brought to market.
Probably they were using the same chip\board that's in the W100 and no doubt the same software developer.
