Soft start dimmer won't remote dim after XPRESET command

I have a few X10 soft start wall modules (X10 PRO XPS3/WS13A) controlled via a CM11A.  The modules are turned on using an xpreset command to a pre-set dim level.  If I later try to remote dim one of these modules up/down, it will not respond to the dim command.  If I manually turn the module on, remote dim works fine.  If I send a regular on command, then dim, dimming works, but then the preset on level is the last level the module was at, not the preset level.  Wondering if this is a bug or a feature and if anyone has ideas on workarounds.  Thanks, Russ
