The ESP-01 and DHT sensors are being played with because I have them on hand no extra expense.
They are being used more as learning tools. The DHT was made to work with very little effort, the ESP-01 was a bit more difficult as it needed to be flashed with the code. However once that was figured out it was a breeze as well.
I did order a BME280 before Christmas but it never arrived :-[ B:( I got a refund but never bothered to reorder.
 
 I wish to play more with the ESP-01 then just using it to fetch temperature, humidity, blink LEDs and such as it makes a nice little compact server, but thats for another thread.  >!
