Last night could not turn off a light with my cellphone. Turned it off at the lamp and went to bed.

This morning I cannot setup anything. Now I see the server error message here. BTW the message here should have a date and time it was posted.

I understand that. Just wondering why a server is needed to turn lights on and off.

There are of course many reasons for using a server.
I believe the main reason for this web server  was mostly for ease of initial setup.
The WM100 is advertised as a control from anywhere device which would require end users to setup rules, ports, and extra security in their router which many are uncomfortable doing.

There are several local control options for X10 unlike some other smart devices.
Although I do use the WM100 I also have a local control option using a CM15 and Raspi .

My equipment stopped functioning also.   I though the problem was on my end.  Couldn't connect and tried to reinstall WM100.   Now I get an Error Message....Registration failed  Please make sure your mobile device is connected to the internet and try again.   Of course my phone is connected to the internet but I can't get past this erroneous error message.

In case you missed it:

WiFi HUB WM100 SERVER ISSUES:
The servers hosting our WM100 unit are currently offline. Our developers are working to bring that server back up and we will remove this message as soon as that is completed. Until then, your WM100 may be unresponsive.

You do not need to reset your WM100 HUBs or enter setup. Use of the WM100 should return once the server is back online.

UPDATE 1:  1/4/22 10:31PM CST:
The servers are still down, however, the engineers have identified the issue and are repairing them.  They estimate the servers to be down for another 12-24 hours.  This unfortunate disruption has affected many different businesses and they are working as quickly as they can to resolve the issue.
