Hi everyone!!

I have a SR227 split plug and a RTM 75 Transceiver.

On both the plug and transceiver I have "A" selected. On the plug, the black Unit Code dial is straight up and down, pointing to 1/9.

If I plug the transceiver into a plug on the same circuit as the SR 227, plug in a string of lights in the top plug, and press the on/off button nothing happens.

I have pictures of the plug and transceiver but I can't figure out how to add them to the post.

By RTM75 I assume you mean the TM751 Transceiver. What house code and unit code is the SR227 set to?  What Wireless controller (Palm Pad) are you using with the transceiver? If you're pressing the button on the TM751 that's only turning on unit code 1 (or 9) on the transceiver itself.

RTM75 is the TM751 in a retail package and sold by retailers not X10 or X10Pro.
Also TM751 and RTM75  are hard coded to unit 1 of the set House Code.
It will take a X10 RF command and send it back on the power line using the House Code set on the dial.
The On Off button on the RTM75 will only turn it On and Off.
You can not turn it On and Off with a power line command as it has no X10 power line receiver in it only an X10 RF receiver.

To test the the setup, a friend wired the plug to an extension cord to make it easy to test. I'm going to assume the plug would have to hard wired to work properly??

The question is, can you test the plug/transceiver/remote as it's currently wired?

Should work. If the remote is an X10 RF remote.
If it is  a power line command remote console.
The SR227 controlled outlet should go on and off. The RTM75 will not follow a power line command as it has no power line receiver in it.
Make sure the RTM75, remote and SR227 are set to the same House Code.
If you use Unit Code 1 on  an X10 RF remote. The RTM75 and controlled outlet on the SR227. Should both go one and off. With the remotes on and off commands.

The remote is a RKR24 remote. I opened it up and it doesn't have seem to have a way to change the House Code. It does have a set of up and down arrows, along with two sets of on and off buttons.

Done with button sequences.
Defaults to A1 and A2 if not changed.

If you have not reset the RKR24 remote buttons from default A1 and A2
With the RTM75 set to House Code A.
SR227 on House Code A, Unit code 1. The remote should turn both on and off.
SR227 on House Code A, Unit Code 2 would turn on and off with the remotes A2 buttons and the RTM75 with the remotes A1 buttons.

Looking at the picture of the plug, you have it set to Unit Code 9, not 1. The setting dial terminates into an arrow on the "setting end".
Yours appears to be aimed at the 9, not the one. I cannot tell what the house code is. It too could be set at 9.

On some devices there is not an arrow molded into the pointer, in which case it is the open end that determines the setting.
