Hardware Problems
« on: April 05, 2005, 02:11:22 PM »

X-10, Have been using "New" CM15 A for
about 6 weeks now. Starting on April 3rd I
removed the USB cable from the unit to see
how long the unit would work disconnected
from the computer, well it lasted about 12
hrs then lights started to randomly turn on
throught out the day. Re-connect the USB
cable and launched the software 3.183 and
got the error message "Error Communicating
with USB" standard error mesage your
program gives when it cannot estabilish
connection. HAd to remove unit from wall ,
remove bateries and then reverse procedure
and then re-load timers and macros. Can you
help. The unit has "0" reliablity without
the computer connected and running..

Take a look on the back. If I sent it to you
it probably has a hand-written sticker.

I am having the same issue. I know I do not
have a diag unit. Randomly I get "error
connecting to USB" This is a new computer
and I have many USB devices attached that
function normally. Besides flags not working
properly, I think this is a hardware issue.
CAN I GET A DIAG UNIT????? send me email, I
think once all the bugs our out of the
system I could recomend this product to
other!

I have the same problem, randomly (it seems)
falure to connect to USB.  The computer is
relatively new, not done very much with it
in the 6 months I've had it.  No other USB
devices.  USB plugging in, computer on 24/7,
AHP shut down.
It is hit or miss if the USB will work, and
I never change anything.
Today it might work, tomorrow it won't, then
the next day it works again.  And I have not
changed a thing.
I do have to admit that 3.183 is better than
previous versions.  Prior to 3.183, I had
100% failure rate.  Every time I connected
the CM15A and ran AHP I had to restore
computer to a previous point.
Still waiting to hear from X-10 Pro, been
sending him e-mails for a month with no
response.

VA11A Problem

Help, my computer (XP) won't recognize the
VA11A.  Usually it thinks it is a Intel
camera, but sometimes an unidentified
device,  Tried the suggested solutions in
the brochure, but no luck.  I have the
current drivers, but no way to get them
assigned to the device.

Help!

John C: You can fix the Intel PC Camera Pro
detection by running the X10 driver installer
(from the download site or as part of a video
software installation) with the VA11A plugged
in. When it runs, you'll be told the driver
is not signed, but continue anyway. When it's
done you should have the VA11A listed under
Imaging Devices in Device Manager. If it
still list the Inter camera under USB
controllers, that's OK.
