AHP GUI questions/problems
« on: July 16, 2005, 03:56:14 PM »

Ok - I guess after I received such an
apologetic message from X-10 for dropping my
RMA on the floor, since I was rebuilding my
PC this weekend anyway.  I decided to give
AHP one last try.

So far, so good, only one crash (see below),
and, amazingly, it seems to be stable.  I'm
assuming my RMA is good for a couple of
weeks, so I'll see what happens.  A few
questions though.

1) What is "Extended Code 3.3b" in the
Activity Monitor?  I have nothing but simple
modules and controllers (many are a decade
old), so I don't thing I'm generating any
'extended' commands.  Is this a bug?

2) In the Hardware Configuration Window,
Clicking on Help Crashed the program.
Cleanly and consistently.

3) In the Macro Editor, how do I make the
right-hand menu default to "my Room" rather
than "conditions"?

4) This may be a bug in my understanding of
the interface...When I finish programming a
timer or macro, there's no "OK" button,  it
appears that the way to commit my changes is
to start doing something else (assuming I
have something else to do), this is kinda
weird, am I missing something?

Thanks

Further Info
1) These are Transmitted codes, and no ON/OFF
is given.

2) Same problem from inside "Find Other
Computers" (probably the same from inside ANY
dialogue box)

5) The icon stays in the systray after the
tool is exited, until i waive my mouse over it.

What version of AHP are you using and what
module types have you defined?  The Extended
Code 3.3b configures X10 2-way modules for
automatic status reporting. Some older
versions of AHP mistakenly identified some
modules (Leviton as I recall) as supporting
Extended Codes when they didn't.

X10 on Windows is like that.

I'm running the latest rev., and have nothing
defined but appliance modules (the old 1-way
types), and one PR511 sensor.

Hmmm... you have a weird situation.
I just started a New Room with one each of
the AM466 and AM486 Appliance Modules and one
PR511 Motion Detector.  The 'poll' button for
the PR511 sends only the standard Status
Request.  I see no Extended Codes in the
Activity Monitor.

I'm wondering if there are some crossed
pointers in your AHP setup.
In Room View, right-click on the modules for
which you are seeing the Extended 3.3b and in
"Edit Module" verify that they are indeed NOT
listed as "2-way Appliance Module".

If nothing shows up there, it'd probably be
worthwhile to re-create your AHP setup from
scratch.
