I have been playing with my new INSTEON toys
most of this afternoon. I do not know why
X10 should fear this stuff, they can get a
license and continue on as a normal
distributor.
I like the INSTEON ability to link any
controller to any controlled device. That
means that a wall dimmer switch can be
linked to a remote light dimmer so that they
both dim at the same time when the wall
dimmer is pressed. How cool is that? You can
link your whole house to one dimmer if you
want.
I am a little sore, ouch. I did have to
crawl up into my attic today to drop a
few 'neutral' lines for the INSTEON
switches. I later learned that the 'better'
X10 wall switches also require a 'neutral'
line. Either way, I gained in the 'home
control' world by having the extra ability.
