Timers Report (we're still waiting)
« on: August 10, 2005, 09:20:54 AM »

X10 Pro, on 2/10/2005 in the Wish List forum,
Timers Report thread, U promised a timer report.

To quote:
”X10 Pro
Bob: I was doing that same thing myself when
doing some review here!  I want to get a
timer report into the program soon, too.
We've got a few more things to do before we
get to it, but we will do it.”

I asked for an update on this 5/19, 5/27, and
7/28.  At Roger H.’s suggestion (8/2/2005)
I’m posting this in the General forum.
Please tell us if this is going to happen.
If something has happened to prevent this
report we’d appreciate knowing.  It’s been 6
months today since U posted the above and
we’re still waiting.

It's now another 2 weeks and we haven't
heard from X10 Pro about this Timer
Report.  I'm still using v3.183 so it is
possible that it's been included in a later
version and I'm unaware.  X10 Pro could set
me straight with a short reply.

Dave R, No timer report in 3.187 (latest AHP
version).  Only way to get timer information
is to click on the Timers in the Tree Pane.

This started with a post by a Bob saying that
he was using Screen Captures to obtain a
"Timers Report" and it was spilling over into
two screens.  Currently mine takes two and a
half screens.  I print and have three pieces
of paper to deal with.  X10 Pro said he was
doing the same thing, but he wanted to
include a proper Timers Report.  At this
point all I'm asking is if this feature is
still on the to do list?

Dave R, I was just providing feedback to
your statement:

I'm still using v3.183 so it is  possible
that it's been included in a later  version
and I'm unaware.

My feedback validates your question of if
the timers report is still on the to do
list because it certaintly does not exist
in the latest AHP version.  The intent of
my post was not to tell you how to get a
list, but more that the report does not yet
exist.

Wow, 3.187 is still the latest version?!?!

Am I glad I jumped ship when I did!  (last
febuary)

What has it been 4 or 5 months (or more)
since the latest update?

I hate to tell you this folks, but this is
probably the last update you are going to
see of AHP unless they need to change
something so they can sell another plugin!

FAHPU: It has been about 2 1/2 months since
the last update.  X10 Pro told us that this
would be the last update we would see for a
while since they are working on the
Internet Plug-in right now.  I am just
curious how long it has been since the last
update on the controller you are using now?

I find it funny that people on this forum
used to complain that there were too many
updates and now others are complaining that
there aren’t enough.  It just goes to show
that you can please some of the people some
of the time but you can’t please all of the
people all of the time.

It’s not perfect, but AHP seems to work
well for me.  There are a few features that
would be nice to have and there is one bug
that would be kind of nice to have fixed
but overall, for the price I am happy.

Roger H. -

First - sorry about being off topic - but
your comment about overall being happy begs
the question - are you using the unit (with
stored timers) disconnected from the PC?

ARF:  Yes, I have had it disconnected from
the PC for about 2 1/2 months (since
shortly after the last upgrade).  All of
the timers are running on schedule (I have
a clock test timer to verify that the clock
is still accurate), all of the macros still
work properly and the transceiver still
works (the range isn't amazing, but it is
about the same as my old TM431).  I am not
using any motion sensors though (I used to
use one in my back yard, but the batteries
died years ago and I haven't bothered to
replace them).

Maybe I am blessed for not having
complained too much (you know the saying,
the squeaky wheel gets drowned in icky,
oily gunk).

Roger H.,  I would be interested in knowing
what version of the CM15A you are using now.
I had loads of trouble but after a March 05
replacement with a diag unit I have been
running just fine too.. All timers and macros
functioning right on the minute.  I also run
disconnected 24/7.  I have a diag unit marked
04J44  4 Mar.  BUT... I would like to see
some revisions on the timer reports and maybe
some more enhancements to the Macro module.
The only complaint I have at the moment is
the failure of the CM15A to react to 2 or
more motion detector signals arriving at or
near the same time.  It ignores one until
another signal is received.  It just is not
fast enough to capture 2 (or more) MD signals
that are transmitted a second or two apart.

Regards,
SteveRF

SteveRF: 05C10.  I received it as a
replacement for my original one in April (I
think) which would only work for a couple
weeks.  The new one seems to work much
better.
