Internet Explorer / Blue Screen Error
« on: March 31, 2005, 10:44:36 PM »

After loading latest update:  When you look
at activity monitor you get a blue screen
error, hit space bar to return and then you
can view it. After exiting active-pro and
try to run internet explorer you get the
same blue screen failure repeatedly until
you reboot. (running Windows ME)  Also still
Rundll problems when trying to update. have
to CTRL-ALT-DEL Rundll32 which shows not
responding and end for update to continue.

I'm not aware of anything in ActiveHome Pro
that could also cause Internet Explorer to
produce errors. What's the message on the
blue screen you're getting?

D Gilbert  I noticed this problem with 98
just last week. I found out it was the virus
scanner I was running. Don't know why that
would be affected by the update but it was
removed the Grisoft "free" AVG software from
the pc and the internet works. It doesn't
have this affect on XP. 98 & M.E. are close
in there operation usually a bug that is
seen on the one is seen on both but not
always. I had M.E. running on my test
machine with AHP but had more problems with
the OS then AHP.Ceck to see what other
programs are running it might be a conflict
between the two.

I have noticed the same thing running 98 and
lastest McAfee VS. If I disable VS before
runing AHP everything seems to work fine.
However when I try to enable VS after
closing AHP I get several blue screens and
have reset power after it locks up.

Your probleme might be related to spywares
and viruses. They tend to do exactly that.
Again the virus scanner might also cause
that. I dont have to tell you what
antiviruses you should use but McAfee and
AVG are not the best antivirus on the market
as i prefer CA Etrust. I had alot of problem
caused by McAfee in many computer i repaired
but i wont go into details since it`s not a
computer problems forum.
