I'd not even try the 3.186 update, it's
worthless.   I did the update, had
problems  with Macros & AHP manual commands
(turn  lights off and on from AHP
interface).  I  wound up de-installing AHP,
re-installing  AHP from software I got with
original  purchase, updating to AHP 3.183,
copying HP  configuration file from last
3.183 backup  then cold loading the CM15A,
no problems  for several days now.    Stay
away from 3.186, fixes it makes are  not
worth the new problems it causes.....

I downloaded the new version and now the
whole program will not run.  I uninstalled
and reinstalled with no luck.  I also tried
installing the previous version and no luck.

HELP!!!!!!!!

SteveC:  The best way to revert to a
previous revision is to uninstall AHP and
then re-install it from the link originally
provided to you.  You can then use the link
to 3.183 to upgrade to that revision.

Roger H:  I tried that and still have not
had any luck getting the program to run.
If I look at the task manager it shows that
the ahp software is using 100% of the CPU.
I am completely confused as the program
worked prior to ever upgrading to the 186
version.

I am perplexed.

I've decided that some updates are worse
than others. This happened to me before and
the next version worked.

What really confuses me is to how it gets
released. Surely X10 must have some test
computers there. How can my XP version of
software not work when I assume they've
tested it on theirs.

Steven R: You're right -- we do test here on
multiple systems and multiple versions of
Windows before releasing. We still haven't
figured out why updates cause problems for
some users, and are perfectly fine for most
everyone else. We're working on that.

Steven R: You have to remember one thing -
NOT everyone has the same system that X10
uses to test AHP on. All you need is an
update program that doesn't do a complete
install to screw things up. I have had
numerous installs that would not work when
a particular update program was running
(happens to be CreativeLabs), as soon as I
stopped the update from executing every one
of my problem installs worked correctly
with out a hitch. Problems can also be
created by Spyware/Adware/Viruses and
programs deveolped to detect then. X10
should not nor can be expected to test
thier software against every other program
out there. Sometimes the problem is yours -
you need to find out what you have
installed that could be causing the
problem. At least X10 is looking at for a
solution, we have to be a part of the
solution and help them as well.
