Anyone else have a problem with the InstantON
color camera.  The picture is pretty good
except there is a grainy film.  Looks like
the len's has dust particles on it but it is
a brand new camera I got last Tuesday.

There is nothing wrong with my camera.  I
took it outside on the patio and it looks
great.  My living room has dark wood and the
light coming is not bright enough so I get a
grainy picture.

Looks like I will need to purchase a B/W
low-light camera.  They seem to work really well.

I just purchased 3 Low-Light Cameras ( see
my rant in another post before buying these
camers), and 1 of them has that
exact "grainy film" look to it. But the
others r fine. It must be toast.

Yes the low light work very well in low
light conditions.  Don't believe the people
who expect low light cameras to be infra-
red.

lol thats right YKZ_Pilot dont expect the low
light to be ir. BUT do understand that low
light is a broad term, and what is low to one
person is high or pitch black to another. a
fair way to say it is... " the less light the
more of a poor quality picture you will
receive, and the amount of light when refered
to as LOW is really just a lamp on in an
average room, very possibly more light then
the average person would have on while sleeping.:

so go with the ir camera instead. because in
my opinion the low light camera is way to
grainy at that "low light" level.

The low light cameras work very well in low
light.  Only an idiot would think low light
is pitch black.  No offense.

real axe to grind with X-10 for some reason.

All the customers that are pleased with the
products and the service who are helping
others here he calls "X-10 employees".

no the axe isnt with x10 necessarily, it is
with the fan boys that seem to think that
there  is NO problems with the products and
that the stance of "if you are having
problems your a idiot" welp, you have just
attracted my attention. and again we will see
just how useful your stance and repeated
insulting in the form that anyone with a
problem is wrong will cost x10. i would have
happily left and shown no distrust to the
community.. but when you got nutts like Pilot
spewing what is so apparently an employee or
at the least a fan boy opinion it makes what
i do all the more worth it to show the public
a much bigger more complete view of the
products.

issues? NOPE thats why the forums are here,
thats why there is so many OTHER people with
the issues, but they dont stick around they
post the negitive and leave because it isnt
worth the headache to them.... BUT it now is
worth it for me!!

Anyone who believes them deserve what they
get.  There are lots of sincere people here
who ask genuine questions, and are greatful
for the help we provide.

Obvisouly if X-10 had so many problems as
some try unsuccessfully to convince us,
they would not provide this forum for
users.

continue to help spread a more even picture
of the products rather then the foolish one
sided opinion you have. Like you said

in fact if there where no problems this forum
would probably not be here with such titles
to threads as "grainy color picture?” “poor
engineering” “Nightvision cams are poor
quality.” Picture Quality” “Flood Cams will
not turn off” “Poor Quality Video Commander
1&2 Part1” and it goes on ALL of which were
started by different people.

When will you see that there is problems with
the products and quit the one sided insulting
assumptions that there isn’t any problems?

p.s. as for your comment about the case
sensitive keyboard user, I will not change
now because I don’t want you to be wrong
about at least one thing you have said.

Well I just bought two floodlight cams,
hooked them up as per the instructions and
they work fine. Had a few white lines on
the screen and found it was one of my
cordless phones. I started disconnecting
the power to the phones till I found it was
the [anisonic that caused the problems. I
then purchased the home security system and
it too works fine with no problems. Lets
come here to find answers or to help
someone else. Don't come here to critisize,
because thats not what this forum is for.
Lets keep theses threads full of questions
and answers not petty complaining.

In my dicking around to get these cameras to
work worth a damn, I ran across this FREE app.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/dorgem
Ran it over my VA11A, tested with my low
light camera, with light in the room on
(since it looks like **** in low light) and
picture looks pretty good and clear.
I'm still working on getting everything to
work in Linux. Since I'm not in the mood to
get in a pissing contest between open source
and other OS's I'll leave it at that.
