I have a 6 cams, vcr commander, sensors ...

I want to know how anyone is placing these
things on walls where there is no wall plug
for the rather large power plugs on the
cams?
Other than the battery pack, how do you set
these up outside?

I have watched the video's on this site,
and they show some cams outside watching
the backyard and such, but I can not see
any wires from the cam.

I know the cams need the large supply for
the code, but is there a way to have a
clean looking wall camera mount using the
code supplies, and hide the wires?

That is the main thing I dislike about
these cams.

One thing I might recommend are these
plastic covers that fit onto the outdoor
outlets. They're made to keep an extension
cord from being pulled-out, plus protect it
from water, but I'm pretty sure one of those
power supplies would fit inside one...
As far as anything else goes. I guess it
depends on the circumstances. For example,
let's say you wanted to mount a camera on a
post watching the house. What I might do is
install a post for bird feeders and houses,
unless there is a tree handy. Then, I would
bury either a heavy extension cord, or use
UF wire and bury it up to the post/tree. I'd
get a water-tight box and run the AC into
that and put the power supply inside it and
seal it up, then run the low voltage wire up
the post/tree and mount the camera in a bird
house to conceal it. Like I said, it's
situational and hard to tell someone what to
do when you don't know the circumstances
involved.

I don't really have specific situations.
The one scenario you give did give me more
ideas.

What about as simple as inside your home on
a wall.

I have one setup upstairs in game room on
the upper portion of wall, but it looks
like crap, because the supply wire hangs
down to the plug which is on the lower
portion os wall.

Okay. Your key word is 'upstairs'. In THIS
instance, I'm assuming this is a two story
house and 'upstairs' referes to the second
story. Do you have an accessible attic
space? You might try running the power cord
for this camera through the ceiling and
having the supply in the attic. Of course,
it needs to be on an active X-10 leg, or you
need to get a phase coupler.
You can actually take a small diameter piece
of steel wire, like those used for
supporting insulation batting, and drill
through with it to see where it winds up,
instead of making a big hole first.

Another option is to go through the wall
that the camera is mounted on. Let's say
that there is a utility room, or bedroom on
the other side of the wall. It would be
quite possible to run the power wire through
the wall and have the power pack plugged in
on the other side where it might not be as
much of an eyesore.
