I have this cam, but need to adjust the
sensitivity of the motion sensor.  It comes
on everytime the wind blows, and then the
indoor chime goes off - making this cam no
good for ringing the chime.  I need to know
when someone is on my front porch - that is
why I bought this.

Does anyone know how I can adjust the
sensitivity of the motion sensor making is
less-sensitive?  "even if I have to open up
the inside electronics?"

I saw a post somewhere in these forums on
what to do. They recommended replacing a
resistor with a different value, but it
seems it would be better to use a variable
resister. I'll try to find the post for you.
Some recommend using electrical tape to
cover some of the motion sensor lens to
reduce sensitivity.

The key thing that you said is "when the wind
blows" .. the first thing you can do is to
look at the area where the motion sensor is
and see if theres any tree branches or such
that move in the wind , that wouls set it off
and could be solved by either removing the
object or repositioning the sensor so that it
wont see that motion .

another thing is that if you have an old
house like mine it may move in the wind  and
that will cause the sensor to trigger , i
live on a main street and every time a bus or
truck goes by it trigger the sensor .

I have the same problem.  Every time it is
windy I have to switch off the FloodCam.  Its
motion sensor does not "see" any trees so
that is not the problem. It really needs a
sensitivity adjustment like every basic
motion sensor flood light you can buy from a
building supply store for under $15 has.

If you want to add a sensitivity adjustment
here's what to do :  get a small single turn
50 k ohm potentiometer from an electronics
shop (Digi-key) that you can mount to the
inside panel of the FloodCam.
Cut out R33 (4.7 k ohm) from the motion
sensor board (it's connected to pin 2 of U3
and C24.  Run fine wires (hook-up wire is
good) from the two pads where R33 was to the
50 k ohm trim pot.  Make sure the lid still
closes tightly on the floodcam with your trim
pot installed.    Turn the pot to the middle
setting, decrease the resistance of the pot
until you get better sensitivity for the
motion sensor.
