My x10 camera set up interfears with my
wireless router. When the motion sensor
sends an off signal it turns off my wireless
router and it takes several calls to the
wirless routers tech support to get it to
work again. I also noticed that when the
router is on that it causes noise with the
x10 signal. Does any one know of a work
around for this or is it just a no go with a
wireless router? thank you in advance for
all replies

Both are in the same 2.4 Ghz range and and
problems have been known to happen. 2.4 Ghz
cordless phones can also be a problem. Have
you tried a different channel for the
cameras? Maybe moving to a different
frequency in the 2.4 Ghz range may help.

thank you for your responce, the reciever
only works on channel D, so I dont know if
changing the channel on the camera would
work. Even if I have the cameras on A the
reciever will only pick them up on D.

By moving the frequecy do you mean on the
camera? if so how do you do that? doesnt
changeing the channel on the power supply to
the camera only change the address to turn
the camera on and off?

I too have noticed that the 2.4Ghz signal
from my x10 camera conflicts with my wireless
G router(Belkin).  I had to unplug my camera
to get my router to work.  Most routers allow
you to select the channel (1-11), but I don't
believe x10 gives you any choice.  X10 may
not even adhere to the channel frequencies.

My new Toshiba wireless notebook conviently
displays all wireless networks and usually
finds at least 4 networks (channel 6 & 11) as
well as signal strength.  When I plug in my
x10 camera, all available networks
(reguardless of channel) drop in signal
strength, and several go away all together.

My conculsion is that x10 cameras broadcasts
across many or all of the 2.4Ghz channels and
are incompatable with wireless B & G networks.

If anyboby knows exactly what frequencies x10
cameras use I'd like to know.

You are on to something with the router
channels. When I go to the other computer
that uses the wirless network, I see that it
is using channel 11. I have no idea how to
change the channels that it uses but I
wonder if changing that would work

Hi Duane. The X10 cams channel switch is
under the (oval shape) rubber plug at the
cam base. Select A B C or D and do the same
on the receiver.Same letter on each. The
channel frequencies are: A-2.411 GHZ
B-2.434
C-2.453
D-2.473

Thanks Dave for the X-10 freq. info.

I now remember setting it on mine to C which
is why it conflicts with my Ch 11 router
setting.  Below are the 802.11 B & G channel
allocations;

Channel 1 2399.5 MHz - 2424.5 MHz
Channel 2 2404.5 MHz - 2429.5 MHz
Channel 3 2409.5 MHz - 2434.5 MHz
Channel 4 2414.5 MHz - 2439.5 MHz
Channel 5 2419.5 MHz - 2444.5 MHz
Channel 6 2424.5 MHz - 2449.5 MHz
Channel 7 2429.5 MHz - 2454.5 MHz
Channel 8 2434.5 MHz - 2459.5 MHz
Channel 9 2439.5 MHz - 2464.5 MHz
Channel 10 2444.5 MHz - 2469.5 MHz
Channel 11 2449.5 MHz - 2474.5 MHz
