Nija mounting question
« on: March 23, 2005, 04:31:58 PM »

I just purchase Nija pan/tilt add-ons. Is
there any problems with mounting the Nija
pan/tilt upside down.

Can the be placed outdoors under cover
(like under a eve).

Does anyone know if incasements are
available for the Nija and camera or has a
suggest that they have used.

You well have to turn cam over to see
things right side up.
I have one on a pole up right and it has
been out all winter by the lake and one out
back on barn and one upside down in dogs
area for the last year and still works
great. May I sugest that when the weather
turns wet and frezzing you keep them moving
(panning)I went to Wal-Mart and found a TV
antenna motor and put a cam on it $60.00.
Nice - turns full circle. Draw back no tilt
but I don't need it for this one in yard.

X-10 sent me this i ask the sams ? Ive had
mine up for the winter so far so good..
The cameras sold by X10.com are water
resistant, but they are not water proof. They
should never be submerged under water, and
if exposed directly to the elements,
they may become damaged. If you are going to
place one of the cameras outdoors,
it is best to place it near or under some
protection - such as under the eaves of
the house.

Also, note that the cameras" operating
temperature is from -10C to 40C. If
used outside of this temperature range, the
cameras will have less transmission
range, longer warm-up time when turned on,
and a more grainy image. If the temperature
goes too far outside this range, the camera
may stop functioning and/or become
permanently
damaged.

Dustin

I just ran my units threw the winter here
by the lake (Cleveland)and removed the
plastic lens cover. I coated the threds on
the screw in lens with rubber caulking and
my units are out in the weather on poles.
Snow, rain, ice and have had know problems
with them. Pan/tilt works great and the
only problem I had was with snow building
up on unit holder and if I did not keep
them on pan they would freez with ice on
rain days.
