This is probably a rather silly question,
but can you plug the camera into an outside
outlet or would that short out the power
supply? I read on the ninja base that you
are not to do this but I find nothing on
the camera themselves.

 Hi Brian ,I have a cam and ninja on a lamp
post in my yard and the power supply in a
water tite box on the pole since March 2004.
The power supply's small wire and connector
are half way up the pole, coated in grease
and taped ,so not to let water in. The cam
has a roof and clear plexie glass sides to
protect it from direct weather. No front or
bottom.

HomeDepot Outside box with cover tell them
what size you are putting in it and they
well be able to accommodate you.  Grease is
a conductor of electricity.
It’s not that hard to run some cased line
to where you want it but be safe in the way
you do it. You can even run a line from
outside porch light.

 Folks I have been reading about the ways
some are doing wiring and I have to say
after more then 20 years of wiring homes
and yards I have seen it all. Please be
careful, proper appliances and ground are
very important.

I actually had a technician friend of mine
tell me the house they bought had a room
where the power was real flaky. Somone had
wired the room with 300 OHM TV Antenna wire!
Gee a fire in waiting to happen! I did find
the Black and decket Freewire outside lamp
module very interesting and it was an OEM of
X10s and does work with standard X10
controllers and signals. Programs like a
Socket Rocket.

I'm looking into using outdoor landscaping
lights power, they are 12vlts and so is
x10.  Just thought of it today, will be
doing some studying & testing before
implimenting.  Just for an idea.
