Anyone tried wiring a 6 Volt DC adapter into
the battery terminals of a motion sensor? Did
it work? Any comments? Thanks.

Well, I know that, most of the time,
electronic devices can handle over-voltages
of several volts and not burn-out, but what
X-10 motion sensor uses 6 volts? I might see
if I could find a 3, or 4.5 volt adapter.
Six volts probably wouldn't hurt anything,
though. Anyway, it should work just fine,
making sure you've got the polarity correct.

The motion detector requirse 4 AA batteries.
Each being 1.5 volts makes it a 6volt sensor,
I believe thats what Joel is thinking. A way
to avoid using the batteries.

Joel:
I dont see why it couldnt be done, my
thoughts are why? I am hearing these should
get 1 year plus, of battery life. Around
here, you can by 8 years worth of batteries
for the $10 you'd spend for an ac power supply.

Yeah, I was just wondering if it was
possible. I'm going to see how long I
actually get out of the batteries first. Just
wondering if anyone else did it.
