Glass break tape

Does anyone know where to find glass break
tape (or have a reason that it is not good
to use)?
It just seems like a better idea than
detecting sound/vibration and I think that
the door/window sensors shouldent be too
hard to modify since it works on a close
circuit off / open circuit on type relay.

It looks like the name of the item I am
looking for is "adhesive-backed foil" and
for opening windows this would connect to
a "take-off switch"... but I still cannot
find them for sale.

go to a local alarm dealer and purchase a
window bug they sense glass breakage with a
mercury switch.  pat....
