Guys I have been happily using x10 for
years.  I just bought a new house and all
lights are x10.  The issue I had in the
past and have now again is with the pr511.
I want to be able to chime inside my house
anytime someone pulls in the drive.  Also I
would like the lights to only come on at
night when the PIR is tripped.  Is this
something that can be done?  In the past I
just put socket light sensors behind the
bulbs to keep them off during daylight
hours.  Bottom line, I like the concept of
having floods come on at night when someone
approaches but also need that PIR up and
running 24/7 to ring the chime to announce
someone’s presence so I can turn on my TV
PIP and see who it is.  Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

I've got same problem. I'm gonna try to use
a day/night sensor I got from Home Depot
and put it between the output of sensor and
the lamp holders. This way the floodlights
will only receive power after dusk via the
sensor.

sounds like gtrnut and you have the same type
of fix for this.  Or you could use and old
511 (one that no longer will work the lights
and use it to activate the chime.  I have
several 511 which have failed.  Looking to
put a solid state relay inline.

Be carefull I find some of the dusk to dawn
sensors come on for five minutes when you
first apply power.  If yours from Homedepot
is like this it will come on regardless of
day night.
