Best batteries for X-10 sensors?
« on: March 29, 2005, 08:41:03 PM »

Does anybody know what the best batteries
are for the new X-10 sensors (the ones that
come with the 49-1000). Each one takes 2
triple-A batteries and I've tried Duracell
and they don't last more than 2 weeks
before the console starts saying "Problem
Zone 1" or whatever zone the sensor is in.
This is ridiculous. I'm going to spend
enough on batteries in a year that I could
have had ADT install and monitor a system.

I dont' think it's the batteries that are
the problem, sounds like the unit or it's
not installed properly. problem could be the
signal is not reaching, could be too far
away from the base, or something is
interfering. replacing the battery is only
resetting it. I had a simiarl problem and it
turned out it was the sensor was too far
away from the base unit
