If you are talking about the DS7000 system,
it uses either pulse dialing or tone
dialing, the standard phone line systems we
use here and most places use tone dial.
You cannot connect the system to a phone
line that uses digital communications
ie:typical office phone system.  They use a
whole different phone networking system.  I
heard of Vonage before, can you clarify
that?  are you talking about the phone
company Vonage?  If you already have the
phone line system, place a test call to
ORCA monitoring.  That will answer your
question.  Oh yeah make sure you contact
ORCA first and let them know your testing
the system.

I know this is a little late on replying
but I just got my system set up this
weekend.  I use Vonage for my home phone
(can't beat it since it is only $24.99/mth
for unlimited local and long distance)
Anyway...I didn't run into any problems at
all.  I would be interested in knowing how
you have your Vonage system set up.  Do you
have it on ALL of your phone outlets in the
house?  This is the way I have it hooked
up.  It is very simple to do, email me and
I will tell you how to make all of your
phone outlets "hot" with Vonage service.
It makes it easier when you are thinking of
where to place your security unit.  Bottom
line, it works just fine with Vonage.

I have my DS7000 hooked up to my vonage
system as well, and it works fine.. only
times you run into issues is with DIGITAL
transmissions (such as direct TV) if you
can't step the baud rate down from something
horribly high they have it set at.   DS7000
communicates analogly.   Also, I have my
house wired with Vonage.. works great.

I have another VOIP service provider and it doesn't work
with the protector plus system. Did you guys have to do
anything special to get it to work or did you just plug the
phone line into the box?

Victor,
Sorry I am just now seeing your post for my
email address.  I didn't have the "notify
me" option on.  My email is
kenhenkel@comcast.net and will be more than
glad to help you in getting all your phone
outlets hot.
