Strange DS10A

I have a DS10A door/window sensor on a
garage door.  I left the door open to do
some yard work and noticed that the base
unit didn't show an open door condition.
Several tests show that even though the
unit transmitts what seems to be a normal
code when the door is opened or closed
there is no indication at the console.  At
the same time, there is no indication that
the sensor has malfunctioned or failed,
implying that it is sending its check-in
every 4 hours.
Anyone seen this before? What was the cure?
What was the problem?

Are you sure that sensor is registered to
the console?
