I bought the window/door sensors thinking
that I could use them with an existing x10
system. I did not want to trigger an alarm.
I am guessing now that I am seeing no rf
through active home pro that these sensors
do not use the traditional X10 freq? Can
anyone verify that this is the problem? Also
is there a door/window sensor that does
transmit an x10 command. I would like to be
able to trigger some lights to come on when
a door opens and closes.

Thanks,
Corbett

Correct.. while they ARE RF.. they use a
special security code to talk to the DS7000.
THe DS7000 works like a standard receiver
and you can use it to control your lights..
but the door/wall things do not work the
other way around.

X10 uses 310 Mhz for it's RF Frequency and
security coded signals as mentioned. Only
thing I can think of is using a set of
magnetic contacts to trigger an X10  PF284
or X10 Pro PSC01. Basically that module can
be triggered to send a powerline X10 signal
that can trigger a macro. Has to have an AC
connection for the module so it can't be
just mounted on a window or door but could
be wired to the magnetic sensor on the
protected access point. Would need a
magnetic sensor that closed when tripped.
The X10 sensors for doors and windows open
when tripped.

Thanks for the replies. That is to bad that
they will not work. I guess I will have to
look for another alternative to do this
without having to have it plugged into a
wall.

Use the W800RF32A. http://www.wgldesigns.com/
w800.html. I've been using it for a year, works great and you
can do many custom things for alarm (for example I get a
text message sent to my cell)

Eugene; Since the WGL W800RF32 sends serial
data to the computer that has to be on 24/7
what Automation program are you using?

Thanks for the info. I will look into this
more. It is to bad that it does not work with
X10's software, but maybe one of these others
will do what I want.
