schematics? nothing is prefect out of the box. Alarm sensors
« on: January 17, 2006, 03:11:02 PM »

Dose anyone know of a place a guy can get
schematics for some of the X10 sensors. What
I what to do is use a motion detectors logic
on a door. This way I can protect some doors
only in ARM/AWAY and not in ARM/HOME.

The regular motion sensore will not work
with a Security Console. Some but not all
sensors and other transmitting devices are
on the FCC web site. Some X10 released the
schematics. The Radio Shack Door/Window
sensor is there also as it is an OEM from
X10. B4S is X10s grantee ID of the FCC
Number. The web address I gave in your other
messsage also has links to schematics. NOTE:
Some of them are not correct or of a
different revision level than ones I have
looked at.

I know regular motion detector will not
report to the alarm base unit but MS10A
does. that is the sensor that I want to mod.

I think I got it. Not tested yet though. I
was browsing the internet on PIR sensors.
Look like they all look for quick heat
change. Run the signal through a amp and
some logic to trip a device that we can use.
So I started to look at the components and
more important the printed circuit card and
saw there where only three trace going to
the PIR chip. One is ground, another has to
be power. The last is the signal. Follow
that to random parts diodes, resistors, IC
CHIP and most IMPORTANT for my purpose is
the test button. That button is normally
open so all I see myself needing is a NO
door switch to parallel the test button and
wamo. I got it.

PS. This way to I think I will still be able
to use the motion part to. Or I might cut
the trace from the PIR. Question is now
Can't test kids are sleeping will the test
button set off a full alarm when int
ARM/AWAY mode? I'm sure it will.
