New to this and dumb questions maybe.  The
X10 website has all the information I am
sure but... it is so busy with flash stuff
hard to cut to the chase in a comprehensive
sort of way.
Are all the X10
products/modules/sensors/etc compatible
with each other?
For home automation, which
software/hardware package do you recommend
to begin with?

All the standard modules and controllers are
compatible with each other. Many third party
modules are also X10 compatible. The
security modules and consoles interface with
each other. Some of the security remotes and
consoles have a few X10 buttons on them so
they can also do control of X10 modules.
