I have a basement with multiple unswitched
lights (the pull chain type)and one switched
light right at the bottom. Is it possible to
use an x10 lightswitch with some socket
rockets to make them all turn on from the
one switch?

Don't know if X10 has a switch that also
transmits an X10 signal when actuated. I
have seen other brands that do.

Seems like you could maybe use a little
keychain remote (or another kind) and have
the remote trigger a macro to flip all the
switches at the same time.

Could you use a motion detector that also
has dusk to dawn sensor built into it to
detect the status of the swithed light and
then send the codes to the socket rockets?

Thanks guys. I think all of that is possible
but I would rather rewire than mess with
keychains and motion sensors (I would have
to have multiple sensors in the basement
then) It seems like a product opportunity
for x10 though. Turn on one light and
have 'virtual wiring' to others.

I'd still just hang a keychain remote on a
little hook where the light switch would
be...and be done with it!

Set all the socket rockets to the same code,
like a1.  Then any controller will turn them
all on and off.  x-10 makes a remote switch
you could attach right to your wall.

Smarthome 2876SB Icon ON/OFF switch. Can
have a Primary X10 address programed into
it. When turned on or off it sends the on
off code back on the power line. Like to all
the socket rockets. One thing. It does need
a neutral wire in the switch box to work.
