Wall Switch Relay

point.  I don't care if it is solid state or
a conventional relay.  I have florescent
built-in fixures that cannot use a ws467.

I have a Bathroom fan that I want to make
manual on but to go off when the lights go off.

A lot of people use compact flos in their
fixtures. I have been using the XPFM inline
modules but run into local control issues.

Same probleme here...  The resistance of the
filament is a part of the circuit and any
florescent will have that resistance... so it
is like the fluorescent is cloning an opening
and closing of a switch, after a couple of
night running in the house to turn off
false... trig on , i understand that the only
way to control Fluo is via a relay driven
trought an universal module (UM506), but it
not as conveniant as a wall or lamp module.

BTW  a 25 waths  lamp can bring the same
probleme!  ( resistance to low )

Use a X10 Pro XPS switch, this is used to
control flourscent lights and small motors.
Of course it is non dimmable. Do not use
compact flourscent lights as they may have a
nosy transformer in them that only creates
noise in your house. This noise stops most
things from working.

Hey, i got an ingenius way to make your
florescent lights work with ws467.  Not sure
if my house will light up on fire **SO DO IT
AT YOUR OWN CAUSE**.  K with the warnings
out of the way, if you read up about
flourescent & ws467...u should know that the
ballast in the flourescent blocks the
communication to the ws467.  However, I've
found out by testing that if you have a
incandescent 40w present along with as many
flourescent light on the same connection to
the ws467.  Pretty much that one
incandescent bulb will allow the command to
flow back to the ws467.  OR you can buy the
XPS3 for $32

X10 said that ws467 gets overheat with
flourescent lights.  I've just installed
mine today so...keeping a eye on it.  Gluck.

Check out smarthome.com for switches that
will help you with florescent lights - they
have both wall switches and a module that
can be installed into the fixture without
changing your wall switch. They also have
many other X10 devices. Good Luck.

It's the WS13A Decorator Wall Switch for
fluorescent lights and appliances.  The
site says it will handle 20-amps at a
maximum of 2,400 watts.  I believe this is
the exact same switch as their XPS X10 Pro
version.  It's also listed on the X10.com
