Looking into purchasing wireless X10
cameras for my business in Minnesota. Just
wondering if anyone knows how well they
work in colder climates. Any input would be
greatly appreciated.

I'm in Canada and it occassionaly gets to -
30c with -15c being a normal low and have
had no problems with them.

I live in Ottawa where it went to -20 C and
it worked fine.  I may be cautious and
avoid using the robot though if I had
experienced freezing rain and such.

Cameras work well after the power supply
warms up

( Greg 14:07:03 ) The cameras' operating temperature is  from 14F (-10C) to 131F (55C). If used  outside of this temperature range, the  cameras will have less transmission  range, longer warm-up time when turned  on, and a more grainy image. If the  temperature falls extremely outside  this range, the camera may stop  functioning and/or become permanently  damaged.

I live in Pittsburgh and have not had any problems with either the cameras or the robotic mounts. As someone else suggested you may want to be carefull rotating the cameras after a freezing rain although that has never seemed to cause a problem with any of my units. The summer highs here only get into the 90's and that  has also not been a problem. One of my cameras is on the west side of the house,which is the weather side. The only problem I have ever had with it is one time after a very bad rain storm some rain got behind the plastic lens guard. It did not do any damage to the camera. After the storm I simply removed the plastic cover and dried out the lens. That was 6 months ago and the camera is still working.

Only problem I have with the cold and the cams is the power supply as well! To cold it won't turn on but then the power supply isn't supose to be outside!
Maybe  X10 should make a power supply for outside use!
