Wish I could do what it talks about in the
Smart Macro ad.

"Never be blinded again by bathroom lights
in the middle of the night. Teach them to
turn on automatically at 50% brightness when
you get out of bed after 11 p.m."

My lights always turn on at 100% and then
slowly dim.  Any ideas on how to have the
lights only come on at 50%?

You need a module (or switch) that dims-
up...such as LM14a or Switchlinc:

I use Smarthome 1132 (now, after enduring
pain Nov/Dec with CM15a) so I'm not sure
that Switchlincs are compatible with AHP,
but if not, there must be similar AHP
compatible switches made by someone.

Another way of doing this while you are
waiting for your "2-way" lamp module or
light switch to arrive, is to dedicate a
bathroom light to this function. I
used "rope lights" tucked under the cabinet
and plugged in to a lamp module. The lamp
module is turned on and dimmed to 0%. i then
use a motion detector to trigger a macro to
brighten the lamp module to 30% and after 5
minutes, dim back to 0%. Crude, but
effective. You can use a "dawn - dusk" macro
to turn lamp module fully OFF if you feel
unconfortable leaving the lamp module on at
0% all day.

I would like to get one of the switchlinc
switches, but I can not yet get past the
price.

Bryana_fl - You can use Dave's advice only
you don't need to get rope ligts - rather
than turning your lights OFF use a dim
command to take the light level to 0 and
then use a bright command to bring the
light up to 50%. You are still using a
little power at the 0% level but the light
will not brighten to 100% then dim to 50%
when you issue the brighten 50% command.
You wouldn't have to get any more switches -
and the only problem would be if you had a
power failure - and that is to get things
reset and in synch again - a couple minutes
of work and your good to go again.

I have a LM14A Two-way lamp module. 

In a macro, I have it set to turn 'on' the LM14A to 30% (absolute dim selected). 
However, when it executes, AH Pro seems to be treating it just like a regular
lamp module.  It turns the light onto full brightness, and then dims it down to 30%.

I don't want the "shock" of full brightness.   

How do I code up a macro to take advantage of the LM14A's capability of ramping
up, from 'off',  to just the desired dim level, and stopping there?

Click on "Brighten" on the module, set the desired brightness, and it should come up from zero brightness to the selected level.  Try with a timer set for a few minutes ahead of present time to test.  At least switchlinc will work this way........the LM14A should also, I think.
