Vanguard Camera will not turn off

I just installed the Vanguard camera.  It is "hardwired" for video.  The remote will not turn the camera on or off.  Can anyone help?  All of the functions work fine except on and off.  If i unplug camera, it automaticy comes on, but cannot shut it off.  I assume it is bad to leave the camera on 24hours a day, or is it okay?  Waiting for a call back from tech support.  I wont hold my breath.

I have the same situation - hardwired and can't figure out how to turn it off.  Otherwise, installation was pretty simple, after I was able to get the proper video driver installed.
