When did X10 get the software programmable address?
« on: May 02, 2006, 08:31:56 PM »

does anyone know when, and by whom, the x10 lamp/appliance/etc. boxes had the software programmable addresses?  the early ones had the little thumbwheel, or the screwdriver slot, but at some point they became programmable from a computer; any ideas?

im looking for who first did it, if there are any user manuals or other documentation showing it, etc.

thanks,

mark

I don't believe any X10 modules are programmable with software.
Smarthome for one uses programmable modules

OK forgot the Socket Rocket LM15. It doesn't have code wheels.  ::)

X10 also OEM for Black and Decker made a weather resistant outside module that programmed like a Socket Rocket. Looked like a black box on the middle of a 2' extension cord.
