I had purchased originally Pan-Tilt- Never got that to work over the WEB due to the use of Net Meeting.
I then talked to X10 and asked what software I should buy. They said Active Home- with iWitness and myHouse
Now I have all installed- the most current release of all-
it works fine on the server- but about 8 times out of 10- I get the message "Failure To Connect To Web Server" when I try to go to myhouse.x10.com - not even trying to go to my server directly-
I also get same results if I try to go all the way using the "?" and ID-

I did update the "hosts" file as tech recommended on both machines- but still can not consistently get connected-

Has anyone have this problem? solved it?

thanks

How are you connected to the Internet? Are you able to connect to the MyHouse Service from the computer where AHP is running?

Using Satellite- (Hughes.net- was Direcway) - if I can get connected to their web page, then I always can get connected to my server and everything is fine
If I connect to http://63.211.210.99. then I see the Vanguard panel fine (I did not buy this product because Sales said to buy Active Home instead)
I added these lines to the "hosts" file:

#63.211.210.97 myhouse.x10.com
63.211.210.99 myhouse.x10.com

If I ping myhouse.x10.com, it does actually ping this I/P address (63.211.210.99)- it also works about 1-2 times out of the 4-
It I "ping myhouse.x10.com -w 1500", it almost always works-
It appears as though it is a response time problem

thanks for the reply

as to your second question,, Yes, the server is connected to the myhouse- it shows "waiting for users" and if I can get connected to their page, then I can get connected to my server with no problems

thanks again

As a follow up- I did try the connection from my second house- which also uses satellite for Internet and it works fine-
IA little slow on camera refreshing , but can be seen and lights adjusted.

Apparently, the problem is in trying to access their page from the same network that is running a iwitness-

so, it does work
