AHP Update crashes computer
« on: May 02, 2006, 02:25:31 PM »

I had the prev. version of AHP, and everything was working fine, until I upgraded to the latest version, when i'm working on it, it crashes, if I leave it on, so I can access it from work it crashes.

I know it only happens when AHP is open, cause I have worked on another programas, even design programas such as Corel or Illustrator, and computer works fine.

I get a phisical memory dump screen.

Thanks in advance for all your advices

P.S. Has X10 think about running AHP (MyHouseOnline) as a NT service?

So it's not AHP that crashes, but your computer? You get a blue screen? Does it only happen when you make connections from work? Can you write down what's in the blue screen? What version of Windows are you running?

No, not just when I remote in, also when i'm working there, yes it's my computer that crashes but only when I have AHP running.

It's a memory dump screen, I can't tell what ir says cause it's like a flash, but you can't make out what it says.

I'm running windows XP SP2. On the prev. version I was able to login and use my houseonline, to activate cameras and such, and worked fine, when I upgraded is when all this started.

Does the problem occur when using specific features, or randomly?

Randomly, I normally are using smart macros, but sometimes I just open AHP, and send some commands to a module, and blue screen, and then restart, should I go to the prev. version?

Won't I loose my macros?

If you go to a previous version you should lose anything, though it's a concern that you're having this problem.

Couldn't get to notice about the memory dump screen, but here's some stats using task manager:
CPU - fomr 5% up to 2X%
Memory - 51,XXX KB
Priority - Normal

This is for ActiveHM.exe, I think the resources taken by this are WAY to high.

Computer Info.
Proc. AMD 901 Mhz.
RAM 512

I know it's not the best equipment, but have it almost just for controlling X10

Any suggestions?

I too am having difficulties.  I do not get the blue screen.  Instead, my keyboard and mouse lock up.

I did a system restore back to before loading the software.  That corrected the problem.  However, after I reinstalled the Active Home Pro software, I experienced the lock ups again.

I too have had the same type problem under Win 2000.   I uninstalled and reinstalled AHP and the problem seems to have minimized with the exception of AHP being completely shutdown from time to time.   No error message or anything reported.

Are there any error logs or anything created by AHP to isolate this?

Woke up this morning with AHP still running fine for past 24 hours.   Went to do a Myhouse status and whamo!!!   Blue screen of death with Memory dump.   I was able to jot down everything on screen before the countup reached 100.

It looks like somehow AHP overloads the memory or a conflict arises after running a while.  I'm running the latest version on Win 2000 sp 4, but I wanted to get this information out so X10 Pro can try to isolate it and fix it in a future version.   Memory dumps can't be good, please hurry.

So, get rid of MYHouse, or just don't use it. There are beaucoup problems at the MYHouse server level.

I presume you are saying it's a MyHouse problem then?   Are they looking into the issue?

I like the idea of viewing my camera's remotely so I hope they cure the problem soon.
