yo gang!
we have 3 X10 Instant on cams installed for about 3 yrs; working great (now that we found a loose Neutral Wire in CKT BKR panel thatbhas caused poor reception at time)

First, we have only one cam connected; figured we'd get through basics first.

X Ray V sends us e mails constantly (hundreds within an hour although we have:

btw we have Cable, not dial-up and we know that the Preferences have different selections in Server Events.

In Preferences, Server Events "Send Email" section I have checked  the "When detecting motion" box
We do have Preferences set to "Save Picture Every (sec)" 10 seconds

Although there is no Motion nor flickering light from Sun or room lighting, and no heat from forced air furnace into room, pets or fans, etc. we keep getting e mails, at times, six message pics in same time period to the minute, which corresponds to "Save Pic Every 10 seconds.  I believe we should receive e mail pics only when motion is detected, right?

Now, if I Un-Check Preferences "Save Picture Every (sec)", but still have a check in "Send Email" "When detecting motion" box in Server Events we do not receive any e mail pics at all despite motion (up to standing in front of the cam and yelling and jumpin' up and down!

Its been a while since I played with Xray vision, But if I remember there was the option to mark the motion!
Try enabling that and see what is getting marked!
It may lead to a solution!

ok, tried that. but still getting boo-koo email pics with No Motion.

Tried un-checking "Save Picture Every (sec)"  & holding hand over cam and waving for a minute or more, but no e mail pic of this Motion. Still have a check in "Send Email" "When detecting motion" box.  But No Email pics with Motion

& tried in Server events - checked "Schedule: Every 1 min" with "Save Picture Every 10 (sec)"  - numerous email pics
Still have a check in "Send Email" "When detecting motion" box. 

Will keep trying other options, but this doesn't look good; I know many folks have this working well.

ok, did more searching here and found a old post buried deeply in a non-relevant post.... poster advised that the motion det. in X Ray is too sensitive even though sensitivity is set to MAX
I tried all avail options and combos of setting in X Ray while having cam in a closed box in a dark room.

will ck back her often to see if anyone has a solution thanks!
