just was trouble shooting a non-functioning lamp module. the panamax surge protector (at a different outlet, but on the same breaker)  was the problem and negating the x-10 transmission somewhere from where it was plugged in. grrrrr anyone else have any problems with panamax surge protectors on the same circuit, but on a different outlet plug than a panamax? I've got some isotels located throughout the house and haven't had any problems with them. never tried on the filtered/surge protected side, but have some modules running downstream on the same circuit and they don't seem to cause problems to modules plugged upstream or downstream from where they're plugged in  like this panamax. also I don't have any problem programming and testing from the computer/x-10 interface when I've got my interface plugged into a non-filterted power-strip right next to my computers on the same outlet.

Known problem with not only some surge protectors but things like computer UPS units. My APC BX1000 UPS sucked up all kinds of X10 signlas until I added a 10 amp X10 type filter to it's AC Input Power Cord.
Somethings like Computer Power Supplies and modern electronic gadgets [one report of a intelligent washer/dryer combo] causing X10 line noise that masked the signals also. Some brand CFLs can also be troublemakers while others are fine. My home is almost all CFLs and X10 and Insteon [mixed system] is fine with them.
