I just loaded Lola software on my computer running Windows ME.  Every time I start the software I get the following error message "Lola has caused an error in KERNEL32.DLL Lola will now close"
Any ideas on a fix for this.

The Kernel32.dll file handles memory management, input/output operations, and interrupts. When you start Windows, Kernel32.dll is loaded into a protected memory space so that other programs do not take over that memory space. Causes for Kernel errors can be a many different things.

Here are some:

    * Damaged swap file
    * File allocation damage
    * Damaged password list
    * Damaged or incorrect version of the Kernel32.dll file
    * Damaged registry
    * Hardware, hot CPU, over clocking, broken power supply, RF noise, ground bounce, or bad hard disk controller
    * BIOS settings for Wait states, RAM timing, or other BIOS settings
    * Third-party software that is damaged or incorrectly installed
    * .dll files that are saved to the desktop
    * Non-existent or broken Temp folder
    * A control panel (.cpl) file is damaged
    * Incorrect or damaged hardware driver
    * Incorrectly installed printer drivers or HP Jetadmin drivers
    * Damaged Java Machine
    * Damaged .log files
    * Damaged entries in the History folder
    * Incompatible or damaged dynamic link library files
    * Viruses
    * Damaged or incorrect Msinfo32.exe file
    * Low disk space


Is the error message you've posted exactly the one you get? If not, please post complete error message.

If yes, I'd start by trying to update my audio and video drivers. You can also try to download a new kernel32.dll file. There are many sites on the net that let you download it for free (see Google). Also see the other possible causes.

Jim i had the same problem, i guest there is a problem with windows me an xp, i tried in Windows 2000 sr4 and work ok.

Jim I bought Lola a year ago but never installed it was waiting to upgrade my entire system. Hope to have the new XP system completed in a month or there about. So could you give me (us) a rundown of your complete experience with Lola starting with how it organized you MP3 files and how the software worked in general, like the album, artist, genre, track sound leveling features ect. Thanks!

Sorry to say that the extent of my experience with Lola is very limited. All I have done is copy in a couple of CD,s and play them back through my stereo. That worked fine. I have gotten busy with other things and Lola is not anywhere near the top of my priority list. So far my only complaint with Lola is the lack of range of both the remote and the USB transmitter connected to the computer.
