I recently need to replace a CM15a after many good years of service (probably a lightening strike. They sent new software, which I loaded, Alas all me macros and timers were missing. They told me I had to re-enter everything new. #@^&*().

This is stupid. Thank god I didn't unload the old stuff.

I have never heard of a software product NOT being downwardly compatible.

Any solutions?

Thanks

Do you still have the *.ahx file you were using? I don't know what the default file name is but if you haven't overwritten it, all you have to do open it.

Steven R is correct. If you still have the old .AHX file on your computer all you have to do is tell AHP to open it. Weather you are able to open the old file or have to create a new one you may want to save a back up copy of the file. This way you will have it available if anything should happen to your main .AHX file.

Thanks, but the software doesn't appear to use the same file name extention.  Fortunately I did save the old version of the software and .ahx file so I put it back into production.

I'll reload the new software and try it again.

Tech support insists there is nothing else to do.

The standard file format if all versions of Active Home Pro is .ahx.  EVERY version of AHP since the beginning has read .ahx files. Upgrading the version of AHP does not rewrite the .ahx files.  I have upgraded AHP in the winter, and have loaded my Summer file (created in the prior version of AHP) with no problems whatsoever.
I don't SELL this stuff... BUT I sure do ENJOY using it!!!
