I have recently purchased a small X10 setup and just now learning the ropes about everything.  However, I have not found any topic to address a problem I have encountered (or maybe my search terms stink).  Its seems like it just may be a defective remote or module but I figured I would ask first.  My setup is as follows:

1. SuperREMOTE UR19A
2. ActiveHome Sftware
3. Computer Interface CM11A
4. Keychain Remote KC674
5. Transceiver Appliance Module RR501
6. Lamp Module LM465

Basically, using the "All Off" command on the remote works fine.  However the "All On" command will not activate the RR501 but inputting the direct address does turn on the device.  The keychain remote also works fine.  Only the "All On" command fails.

I have tried moving the modules which moves the problem but doesn't confirm it the remote may be defective.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

All units on only works for lights built in safety system! Appliance modules aren't supose to respond to an all on only an all off

There is really no such thing as a "All On" command in the standard X10 command set.  There is an "All Lights On" (labeled "All Lts On" on  the UR19A remote).

The "All Lights On" command is only supported by your LM465 Lamp Module and other modules designed for controlling lights.  Appliance Modules like the built-in one in your RR501 won't respond, and this is by design.  Your components are not defective.

Good choice on the RR501! You won't regret the few extra bucks when you have fewer PLC collisions!!

Take a CLOSER look at the commands. They're:

• All LIGHTS ON
  .
• All UNITS OFF

WOW !!

I thank everyone for the quick reply !!!  Figures I over analyized it and didn't read the button.  Kinda makes sense in retrospec now.   I wouldn't want my toaster to go "off and on" like a light swiich.  Thanks again....this forum rocks!!!
