Surge Suppressors
« on: September 06, 2006, 11:30:23 PM »

While checking out surge suppressors, I came across some that say they filter out EMI & RF.
What is the scoop on these ?
Has anyone used them ?
Do they make any difference where X10 is concerned ?

They can suck the X10 signal and sometimes have to have filters when used.

I second that. Some suppressors absorber X10 signals as it looks like noise to the suppressor. My APC BX1000 UPS has a surge and noise circuit in it. It completely absorbed the X10 and Insteon signals from my controllers. An X10 rated  Filter on the UPS fixed the problems. ;D
