Can't believe they never built in playing a WAV sound as a smartmacros function.

I'd like to know whether it was the back or front door that opened.  Not just a chime.  Now I can.
Below is a workaround using sound recorder executed from a batch file...
Use a macro to call an external command (.bat file) to play your sounds...

That's an interesting idea.  I also have used sound with my X-10 gear in a different fashion. which I have posted elsewhere.

I use a barking dog alarm to try and scare off the deer that seem to prefer my tomatoes as much as I do.  :'(

It has limited success because as the deer get older they seem to realize the dog never gets outside my shed to chase them away.  It's fun to watch, though, as they look all around trying to find the dog.  :)

You can also use Topic: X10WavPlayer(Add Sound to AHP)  (Read 829 times)
This automatically will make the batch files for you to run and allows configureable looping! ;)

You probably just need to borrow a friend's dog once a year.   :)
Yesterday it worked.
Today it doesn't work.
X10 on Windows is like that.

Unfortunately, his dog passed away last year.  :(

But he wouldn't have been much use anyway, because my 16-year old kitty (aptly named 'Killer") used to chase him away before she passed away in 2000.   :( :(
