I was checking out X10's website and found that they are now promoting iWatchout for AHP. NO mention of iWitness.

http://www.x10.com/cameras/cameras_software.html#software_iwitness
[funny that the URL still points to iWitness]

Either they just changed the name or they replaced the software. There were limited screenshots, so I couldn't tell much.

Well this is a little disturbing.
It looks like iWatchout is iWitness with  a name change like you said.

Did iWitness receive that much of a bad rap to warrant a name change ?

I'm curious as to where this is going.

Actually, I'm curious as to whether it's just a name change or new software.

I wonder if someone else owns the "iwitness" name and X10 had to change or face actions?

Also, will current owners of iWitness be upgraded to iWatchout w/o charge?

We'll see..

I suspect CBS's legal department (they've got boatloads of lawyers)  got after them.   iWitness sounds like Eyewitness, which is the CBS owned trademark for the local news operation of the CBS owned local TV stations, which is  Eyewitness News (TM).

Just a thought.
I don't SELL this stuff... BUT I sure do ENJOY using it!!!

Well, "eyewitness" is`the ABC local news here...but I think tyou are on the right track...

When I saw the title of this topic, my first thought was that it had been started by a frustrated iWitness user suggesting that we "watch out" for the iWitness software.
BVC let's me tell my camera where to go!
