I have everything set to housecode E
was using the palmpad remote with tm751 to contol my switchlinc flourecent light switch. worked great
I updated to the active home pro since I wanted to use timers to automate on\off of lighting.

when I use the software on the PC to control the switch it turns on\off fine
but when I use palmpad to activate the switch I am getting no response. the switch on the active home software is going on\off but the light is not responding.

how can light go on\off with when pressing switch on PC  but not with palmpad? How can that be?

Thanks!

Did you set AHP to Transceive House Code E?
(Under Tools / Hardware Configuration)

cyberserf

The transeive code is set properly on AHP and the palpad remote. my light turns on/off from within AHP so I am sure that the housecode is  not the issue.

ArtClark

If Transeive Code is set right in Hardware setup.  Try using the palmpad very close to the CM15a.  You can also watch the "Activity Monitor" to verify the palmpad signals get through.  Hopefully this can lead you to where the problem might be.

cyberserf

The signal is getting to the AHP when using the palmpad. I can see it on the screen. it just not triggering the light on/off.
why does it work when using the mouse to turn on/off??

cyberserf

I didn't know about the activity monitor. Very nice APP.

from what I can see. when I use the mouse to turn the light on/off it says "transmit" for all the commands.
when I use the palmpad it only says "receive" and receive RF". it never actually transmits the command.

What can I do to make it transmit the commands it receives from the palmpad?

ArtClark

As was said above - It's in tools / Hardware configuration.  You will see the housecodes to transieve (Bad Spelling, I know.)

Be sure that you have the Housecodes that you are using checked...

cyberserf

ArtClark,

I double checked like you said.
I have monitored house code: E
Transceived house codes: E is checked

I even put the palmpad remote right next to the unit and it makes no difference.

I put the tm751 and removed the AHP module. everything works as it should. I want to know why my remotes are not transmitting commands through the cm15a

Brian H

When you used the TM751 and removed the CM15A. Did you also have the computer used to access the CM15A off? Many electronic devices; generate powerline noise that can mess up X10 signals.

cyberserf

The only way the on/off works is when using the PC AHP software switchusing mouse.
when using the palmpad the switch does move in the AHP software but no response from actual light.

on another note, after further testing, all my other switches/modules seem to work just fine on E housecode with AHP and controlled by palmpad.

just not the switchlinc 2883 flouresent switch. why does this unit work within ahp and not from palmpad???

Did you try it with the TM751 unplugged?

yes, I unplugged the t751 when trying the palmpad. its nice not hearing the click when turining on/off  :)

What unit code is your switchlinc fluorescentlight switch set to?

tried with housecode e/f/g, made no difference.
always used with unit code 1

what I don't understand is why it works perfectly when using on/off switch within AHP software!!? ???

In AHP, do you have the Transceiver module there as well as the switch module?

If you do, and they are on the same address (E1), the switch will work fine when pressed via the mouse because it will sent a PLC signal; but your remote is probably triggering the Transceiver module which will send an RF signal... I doubt the switch can recognise X-10 RF.

Maybe put the switch on a different Unit Code (not 1).
