Ws467 Turn ON itself
« on: December 09, 2006, 04:52:04 PM »

I have a WS467 Turn On itself...
This phenomenon occurred 4 times to date since one week !

I executed two days ago a clear interface memory on CM15A to be sure !

I verified on AHP (F2) windows Activity monitor, to know if a RF/Wired Controller sent a command ON.
Not found !
Nothing remote or AHP-function sent a command (B4 ON), but a Ceilling lamp turn ON itself !

Why ?

Anyone have an idea about this problem ?

Modules can be turned on by voltage spikes on the power line.

It's also possible that the module is being turned on by a neighbor's system, by an X10 signal too weak to be detected when it reaches your CM15A.  Try changing the housecode on this one module and see if that makes a difference.

Yesterday it worked.
Today it doesn't work.
X10 on Windows is like that.

I forgot to say that I have two lamps connected to LM465 module adjusted also at B4 !
But never these two lamps turned ON !

These are not the same type of module and they're probably not on the same AC branch circuit, so this fact may not have any relevance.  (You've already observed that the Activity Monitor shows no X10 signal when the light turns on.)

For test purposes I wired up a WS467 and a socket in a switchbox with a line cord and plug.   It's handy for testing possible differences between a plug-in lamp module and the WS467 when plugged into the same AC receptacle.

Charles,
I will define my ws467 to another house code and wait if this switch will turn ON itself again on next 7 days.
Thanks

If it still turns on. It is noise and not a real X10 signal turning it on.
Others have reported similar problems.
Someone in an other X10 Automation BB has a fix, but it involves disassembly and adding a resistor across two of the PIC Controllers pins.
I believe the link is at: http://www.idobartana.com/hakb/index.htm
