tm751 popping noise
« on: December 23, 2006, 05:31:40 PM »

New to X10 - first set up used a tm751 transceiver and a ws12a three way wall switch to control and dim family room ceiling lights.  Everything works fine (set to housecode A, unit code 1, but there is a loud popping noise from the transceiver when using a ss13a wireless switch or a ur19a remote to control the lights.  The wall switch works and is quiet.  Can this be fixed?

The TM751 has a built-in appliance module. This is permanently set to Unit Code 1. You are hearing it's relay going ON & OFF.

Change your WS12A to another Unit Code number.

Now you have 2 controllable modules. ;)

Ghost,
The TM751 as Puck stated has a local relay (built in appliance module) that will only respond to RF signals. It has no powerline X10 signal receiver. So the TM751 can't detect X10 Powerline signals and just sends a received RF signal back on the powerline.

I'm using the TM751 (set to house code B) for my Christmas tree lights; I use the ss13a wireless switch to send B1 to turn on or off. Works perfect. As Puck said; you now have two X10 controllable modules.

Is their an echo in here ? ;)
Cheers  ;D
