Not consistentlly(hardly ever) receiving sensor RF to AHP
« on: January 12, 2007, 05:58:49 PM »

I have been working through the standard challenges of getting cameras, home automation and security working with a AHP/CM15A configuration, however I have one major issue that I have been dealing with unsuccessfully the past month.   I appreciate all the great information on the forum that has provided guidance on resolving the other issues.  I am not receiving RF commands in AHP from MS10A, MS16A and DS10A devices most of the time unless they are located 4-6 feet from the cm15A.  I can't install the DS10A in AHP when mounted on the doors, they must be within a couple feet of the cm15a.   The DS10A and MS10A devices are communicating just fine to a DS7000.  I believe the security remotes are also having trouble communicating with the AHP.  Also the remotes controlling my lights are working fine as well.  The original MS16As worked fine initially, but stopped.  I hava already replaced the cm15a and ms16A without impact.    Any ideas on what I should do further to test or resolve.  I suspect the RF is reaching the cm15A, but isn't being sent to AHP.

Background...
Computer is on ACT 20A filter.
CM15a is on a different plug on same circuit(no other option)
I have 6 lamp modules and a couple 3 way decor switches all working on remotes and AHP.
I have a CR234 Coupler and I am no longer seeing an x10 errors on the cr234 due noise.
I have identified all the equipment causing noise and either installed filter or unplugged.
I do have a d-link wireless router.
I do have a 2.4mhz phone.
3 MS16A, 4 ms10a, 4 ds10a.
I have 3 wireless cameras that work when I get the antenna setup correctly
I have reloaded AHP several times and removed batteries from cm15A repeatedly.
I have replaced the batteries several times.
Everything is setup in AHP except 3 of the DS10A waiting to be configured.

Any ideas would be appreciated so I can get to using macros/security on the AHP.

Thanks

That seems to be SURELY the CM15a's limited RF reception range.

For fixes see this and other threads:

Thanks for the quick response and your contribution to the forum.  I had been reading about extending the antenna, but your information verified that it is related to my problem.  I will need to find time in the next couple of days to extend the antenna.

Thanks
