Hello everybody from a new member:

I am new with AHP, new software and hardware too. 15 switches, all works good manually.

I am trying to build a simple macro, a motion sensor MS14A triggering on a lamp for a few minutes and then off.

The problem is I cannot introduce any motion sensors in the macro. When I am building the room I am placing the motion sensor with the switch in the appropriate field, then I switch to macro. I cannot get the motion sensor to appear in the right hand field of the macro next to the switch and above the timer. If I try other type of module they appear allright. Is there any special tricks to make these motion sensors do their job >:(

Thanks

Puck

rmd: Welcome to the forum. You cannot add motion sensors to a macro; I guess the reason being is that you cannot control them and thats why you cannot see it in the room when editting a macro.

Motion sensors are a prime source for triggering macros however. Make your macro have the same address as the MS14A, and select the macro to trigger when it receives a motion ON signal. Within that macro you can have a time delay for the light to go out, or you can create a 2nd macro that triggers on the MS14A's motion OFF signal (which occurs x minutes after no motion is detected).

Yes, as Puck said, make the motion sensor the TRIGGER.

All kinds of things can happen once your macro is triggered.

Since your on the subject, I use the motion sensor to activate a sprinkler valve to keep my dog off the grass. How do I set it up so I can disable the macro so I don't get wet when mowing the lawn.

DC: create a condition for the macro!
eg: if B3 off then do your macro!
B3 would have to be in your monitored house code then just turn it on before you try to mow the lawn!
Note : B3 could be a phantom module(one that does nothing)
