slow door opening

Hi,

I got a DS7000 wireless security system and I got to the point of installing a sensor to the main door. I tested it and it works fine. I open the door and when set to RUN2 I hear a chime. However, when I open the door very slowly there is no chime. Doe anybody else noticed this on their system or is there some setting to prevent this behavior. Perhaps  I am missing something very simple?

I also got something that looks like an ear piece and it does work on my computer as a head set. However, I'm not sure what is this used for since the installation manual doesn't tell you about it nor how to use it. Can someone tell me what this ear set is for? It does fit on the side of the console but I still can't figure out what is its function.

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply Dave. I actually found its purpose on the manual once I got to that point. I was getting ahead of myself :-)

As to opening slowly the door, I can't replicate that problem either. No matter how slow I open it now the alarm trips so I don't know what was going on that night. I hope I didn't make a bunch of people go and open their doors slowly...

I really like the alarm and it's a great product.
