"Put 'em in the box boys" <BR> <BR>Spend $10 and some coding time and adapt a <BR>micro to: One side communicates with the AHP <BR>micro, the other side is a NAT enabled <BR>router with a firmware HTTPS interface. Plug <BR>in 128 bit encryption and you could run it <BR>from your Ice and Water dispenser on the <BR>fridge. <BR> <BR>It's not rocket science, seriously, take the <BR>weekend and hack up your 614 router and tell <BR>me it can't be done, securely, on the <BR>cheap...then forget about the OS war, it's a <BR>non-issue. <BR> <BR>It also means you can dump all the crap <BR>hanging from power strips and plugs in <BR>your "cockpit room", stick it in an <BR>enclosure in the garage with your 802 gear <BR>and forget the whole mess, just call up the <BR>webpage, authenticate and do your thing. <BR>

Wow! It took awhile to get through all

For me the most useful feature would be the
ability to plug it into an ethernet port
directly skipping the need and dependence
on having a computer on 24/7.

Make sure that you include web enabled cell
phones when thinking about remote control,
status and camera viewing.  They have small

Hey Aaron, I threw together a little circuit
that I'm testing. It's just a comparator
with an RC front end that charges
incrementally based on being triggered by
multiple alarm triggers. if the 7000 fires
off, it takes "X" number of triggers over a
period of time to charge up the input and
trip the comparator. With a feedback loop
you can latch it and AHP can read the
condition (Mine is through a universal
interface) then do its thing. It's just a
cheap and dirty hack to see if it's stable
and reliable. When I get it tweaked I'll
stick it on a website.

Keith: I would also like to know your
results on the DS7000 modification. I got
tired of waiting for a smoke detector from
X10, so I built my own for about $30.00 that
would trigger the DS7000. I bought a second
DS7000 and use it only for fire alarm. I
have it on a seperate house code and a
recording that calls my cell phone when
smoke detected.

I would like to be able to log in as an
administator and have full control of AHP. I
would be able to clear memmory and reload
remotely (this would be a big plus as I have
to do this once a week for reliability
reasons, if I don't do this weekly my macros
and timers quit, activity log shows them
working but they quit functioning WISH THIS
COULD BE FIXED and hope an updated CM15A is
released!) I also have problems with RF
commands that occur to quickly ie 2 motion
sensors at the same time, I have had to
write redundant macros to make sure lights
go out via timers rather than the off
command from the motion sensors. I was late
for work one day as the timers had quit, now
that I reload weekly it is not an issue,
just wish that the system was stable enough
that I didn't have to do that. I have been
using this system way back to cp290 and the
CM11A never failed me - I got into the new
unit because of the communication issue
under XP!!

Would you list the X10 Pro wall switch
XPDI3 in the Pro Module section and
correctly list the DS7000. The DS7000 is
now listed as DX7000.
