Stephane; Yes the AC is a very noisy place <BR>to put signals. Maybe when X10 got their <BR>patents and electronic gadgets where not the <BR>norm. It may have worked fairly well except <BR>for the good old split phase thing.

Well we can be part of the problem or part
of the solution. A forum is a place to
echange ideas and help one another out.
Some people are not as technically minded
as others and come here for help. Thats the
idea of forums. The forums are not here to
bitch and complain because compalining is
just to easy. I agree that the written
instuctions are weak but I've found that
those here that want to help have
succeeded, at least in my case. My security
system works and my cams work. My VCR
Commander works. If your not happy then
just return the stuff and go get a 36.00
month system (by the way the ADT system I
had had less range than the X10 system. SO,
don't get mad and start yelling...just ask.

Just reading through some of the post.
all I want to say is I have had NO problems
with my X10 home system.
Evan the power went out with a rain storm
and the system was still active when I
returned home thanks to the battery back up.
I am very comfortable working nights
knowing every window and every door is
protected plus with motion sensor detection.
I will set the alarms off myself at times
just to make sure I will get the phone call
from my X10 auto dialer.  Works every time.
as for customer Service, I have not needed
any service...

So far I have not had any major problems with
the system.  It does take minutes to setup,
but   configuring it took a while.  I did
have problems with horizontal lines moving
down the tv screen but repositioning the
video reciever did the trick and 3 of my
cameras work great.  The 4th one is in the
laundry room and it has horizontal lines but
I can live with that.

So far customer support is great.  The live
chat is really good.

Sorry to hear that others are having problems.

Damn. I just came here to see if anyone was
having problems.
Bought the low-light cameras to use in my 3
yr old daughters room as a baby cam. Turn it
on didnt see squat. Called tech support first
he said if I didnt like them send them back.
After I got over wanted to beat the hell out
of him, I researched the IR illuminator
suggestion he gave me. That basically worked,
just surprised quality of video output sucks
after about 15 minutes. And I have never
after 2 months of installing, reinstalling,
Windows and Multi-view gotten the software to
work. At least the VA11A drivers work with
XP, but the quality of video still sucks.

Good luck US Superior Marketing.  Either
you are just blowing noise, stupid, or you
never got screwed by a company for a few
thousand dollars.  What are you going to
do?  Go to small claims court?
Arbitration? Mediation? You are going to
spend much more money than X10 took from
you.  X10 obviously lives by the motto: "so
sue me", and "buyer beware".

This is the first time I have seen any
formal response from X10 on these forums.
Normally they have their reps hover under
changing aliases.  If X10 had any interest
in resolving customer relations issues,
they would formally reply to the postings
here on these forums.  They are cowards and
crooks!

And for those of you who rant on and on
about how you bought lots of x10 product
and haven't had any problems, so no body
else could conceivable have any problems?
Are you smoking goof weed?  That reaks to
high heaven of an x10 rep.

And the arguement that "It is cheap, so
stop complaining" is terrible.  When a
company says a product will perform to
certain specs, then the customer has the
right to expect a product to live up to the
specs...weather it is cheap or expensive.

Your reps should stop and listen to what
they are saying.  They contradict
themselves all the time.  Insisting they
have nothing to do with x10, then in other
posts saying "we have sold thousands of
that product"?  Give me a break.  X10
thinks we are all stupid!

Grow up like you?  No thanks.  I know legal
action will go noplace with dishonest
crooks.  But a company lives or dies on
reputation.  You don't want those who have
problems with x10 to have a voice?  Wrong!
This forum is just the tip of the iceberg.
Customers like me drove volumes of new
customers into x10 hands.  Now I have taken
steps to retract ALL of those customers
from this company. DONE DEAL!  You fanatics
are doing a wonderfull job at getting rid
of others who read these messages.  Keep up
the good work, you fools!

WOW!!!  What the H***'s goin on here???
I've used  x10 for a few years ? (6-7) and
have never  heard such bad reports.  I
didn't know about  the forum till today but
I am concerned and  confused!?  I bought
$K's of dollars of product for  these guys
over the years.  Just in the last  while I
haven't bought anyhting.  have  things gone
that bad???.  In the begining,  yes, lack of
manuals and understanding left  me without
hope as well as frustrated.  Eventually I
got my motion sensors to talk  to my lights
and plugs, my remotes to talk  to cameras,
my fire crackers to to talk to  yard lights
but not instantly.  I even took  the pro
corse to understand why this stuff  wasn't
talking to each other.  If you are  serious
about learning how this stuff works  and/or
how to make it work LEARN.  The line noise
in the average house makes  for very hit and
miss quick installs.  Now I  haven't worked
with web view and such, but  the other
equipment has been working for  years.  The
odd piece quits now and then but  S*** for a
few bucks buy another.  wait for  big sales
and buy bulk.  If your not into the learning
curve- then  get someone else who is do the
work for you.  $.02
